Room Parents
Each class has one or two Room Parents who serve as the primary communication link between the parents, the teachers, the Administration and the Parent Organization. Through the Room Parents, families connect with each other, the faculty, the staff and the larger GHS community.
Room Parent responsibilities are divided into two categories. Their primary role is to provide support to the teacher in the classroom. In doing so, the Room Parents work closely with the teachers to ensure that they have parent support for daily classroom operations and special events. Their second role is to support the Parent Organization and Administration. This involves serving as a source of general information about volunteer activities at GHS – with the goal of encouraging broad participation.
