Tornado Hardship in Henryville, Indiana

One of our parents, Mrs. Avis Jolly and her husband, grew up in Southern Indiana and frequently their school teams played Henryville in sports. She also has a childhood friend who is currently a teacher at the demolished High School.   As you know all the Henryville’s schools were severely damaged by the tornado and fund raising efforts have begun to help re-build the schools.  Several GHS friends of the Jolly’s have asked how they can contribute to help re-build the schools.  We have listed information below if you would like to help with donations.
• School Rebuilding Fund, Option #1 – For anyone who would like to donate directly to the school re-building fund, you should send checks made out to
“Henryville Schools” (Notate “school re-building fund” on your check)
New Washington State Bank
P.O. Box 438
Henryville, IN 47126
• School Rebuilding Fund, Option #2 – Angels and Doves have set up a nationwide fund to collect donations.  You can do checks or PayPal.  View their information at http://www.angelsanddoves.com/home.html   You need to scroll down a bit to see it.

We Need Your Pictures!

Another year at GHS means another yearbook!  In order to produce a yearbook which encompasses all of the GHS sports, activities and students, we are asking for your help. We would like to have a volunteer from each classroom who will take pictures of that classroom’s events.

We are also asking parents to take pictures of the sporting events you attend.  Please label your pictures with the event, (i.e. 8fooball1.jpg) for 8th Grade Football picture 1, and copy the pictures to a flash drive or a CD.  No Picasa, Kodak, Shutterfly websites, please. Mr. Blum has both CDs and flash drives in his classroom if you need them.

Please bring your photos on the flash drive/CD to Mr. Blum’s classroom. If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Mary Lesman at 458-1845 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
