GHS Cross Country opened their season on a challenging course at Pleasant Valley with impressive results.  The Hawks garnered three first place finishes, two seconds and a third.  Over half the team earned top tens.  Well done Hawks !

Eligibility:  GHS Boys & Girls in Grades 2 through 8
Season: August 22 to October 7
Practice: See schedule below.  Practices are held at GHS outside (meet at the picnic tables) Practices are held from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.  
Meets:  All meets begin at 3:30 p.m.  Course walk-through begins at 3:00 p.m.  
Attire: Runners need to have appropriate attire (athletic shorts, t-shirt, and good running shoes
Cost: $75 due on or before the first day of practice.  Turn in registration form with check for sports fee.  Registration form can be found online in the forms section.
Uniform: Uniform jersey will be distributed before the 1st meet.

Cross country season is off to a fast pace with an excellent group of runners representing GHS.  The season opener on September 8th was held at Rasmussen Park in Cameron Park.  The runners were introduced at this meet to a cross country course complete with a dirt trail and a challenging hill to run.  GHS boys and girls grades ran very well and placed as high as 3rd individually.  The first meet of the season left the runners eager to build on their experience and be more competitive for their next meet.
