Father Daughter Gala 2010 |

As you walked into the room there was no doubt that the night was going to be spectacular. Thanks to all the hard work of Baeliet Ewing and her amazing GHS committee the gym was transformed into sheer beauty with paper lanterns, soft lighting and fragrant floral arrangements provided by Camino Florist and Cameron Park Florist. A nice touch was added to everyone’s attire as each girl received a corsage and their fathers were pinned with boutonnières. The girls looked beautiful as they made their way over for portraits taken by our very own Lynn Greene and then naturally took over the dance floor. Dads jumped right in showing the girls that they still had some moves of their own. With an assortment of food provided by, Nugget and Raleys, chicken skewers from Pita Pita and homemade goodies supplied by our GHS parents, there was plenty of delicious food for all. The girls were also treated to smoothies from the Margarita man and yummy dessert from Yogaberry. The entertainment was wonderful as everyone put their feet to rest to watch the entertainment team from Oak Ridge perform. This was truly a night that will be remembered by all.
Other vendors that provided to our event were SpiceRack Productions, The Entertainment Team, Celebrations, Party Royale and Peete’s. We couldn’t have done it without their support.

The Golden Hills School outing to Arco Arena was great fun with more than fifty of our kids running the court and scoring baskets for two hours prior to the Kings game. Kudo's to Athletic Director Geoff Kauppinen for organizing this great event.
Our kids great behavior caught the eye of Sacramento Bee sportswriter, Sam Amick, who included the following in his Kings Blog.
ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE, THE GOLDEN HILLS KIDS DO THEIR COUNTRY PROUD
The flag didn't touch the ground, and that's all that really matters right?
Kudos to the kids from Golden Hills School in El Dorado Hills for that. The energetic bunch who was escorted by athletics director Geoff Kaupinnen took part in a game on the Arco Arena floor by day, then held the American flag by night during the pregame national anthem.
In the interest of full disclosure, my father-in-law is a middle-school science teacher at the fine establishment. And as I learned in the brief time spent together with the students, there are about a dozen kids convinced that they - and no one else - are Mr. Blum's favorite pupil. - Sam Amick
